Education equips a man to achieve his goals and fulfill his dreams. It is not the be all and end all of his existence but a means to a successful and spiritually oriented life. Our mission at Girls’ High School & College is to focus on learning for every student every day. We are indebted to our Principal Rev. Dr Mrs. Vinita Eusebius, whose insight and vision has brought tremendous success in the overall growth of our esteemed institution.
The new Academic Session commenced on 6th April 2022. There was excitement buzzing around the children as they were physically attending the school after a long gap of two years because of global pandemic. The Prize Day was the first in the series of events where the prize winners were felicitated. This was followed by English and Hindi Elocution. A week long Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was celebrated from 3rd August to 8th August 2022. On 17th August, Hindi and English Poem Writing Competition on the topic “Nation” was held in which students participated enthusiastically. Along with the nation our school also celebrated Jasn- e – Azadi on 20th October 2022, in which great number of students from classes six to eight participated in singing, acting and drawing competition and won prizes.
We also had workshop for teachers on 14th July 2022. Mrs. Ritu Gupta, a prominent doctor of our city conducted workshop on Handling Medical Emergencies in Schools. Shruti Sharma, Asst. Professor in United College of Engineering & Management exhorted us on ‘Presenting Knowledge of our Classroom Challenges and Opportunities’. Also, Ms. R .Lartius taught to make various items out of waste. The staff was highly benefitted by it.
Due to the guidance and encouragement of our respected Principal, Girls’ High School & College was the first institution in the district of Prayagraj to implement ‘Bagless Days’ for the students of classes sixth to eighth. First bagless day activity was held on 27th April 2023. Every month, students participated in the activities conducted for Bagless Days like puppet making, making articles out of waste, cooking without fire, salad decoration, flower arrangement, planting trees etc. Along with Bagless Days, students were imparted Financial Education to make them Financially Literate. Financial concepts like Barter System ,Evolution of Money, Needs and Wants, Budgeting etc were taught to the students through audio-visual aids. National Sports Week was held from 21st -29th August 2023, in which students participated with great zeal.
On 23rd August ’23 a workshop by an organization Itihaas was conducted for the middle school students on the topic Mera Shehar Mera Itihaas. Students of class eight went to the museum on 24th August 2023. They participated in Poster Making Competition and won First and Second prize among many participating schools. Swachhta Pakhwara was organized in our school. Class sixth participated in Slogan Writing Competition and classes seventh & eighth in Debate. Students participated in different club activities from 12th September to 16th September 2023, they participated in On the spot painting, Quiz, Model Making etc. 25th November 2023 was the day for our grand Annual Sports Day & P.T. Display. On15th August and 26th January, the student’s hearts were full of love and pride for the nation. The Christmas Celebration was a day of joy and enthusiasm. Annual Bal Mela was held on 8th February 2024 which was a day full of fun and frolic, away from rigorous discipline of school life. Half Yearly and Final Exams were held at the scheduled time To test students learning marks were given on orals, projects and written examination.
In the end we take the opportunity of offering of our heartfelt thanks to our Principal Rev. Dr. Mrs. Vinita Eusebius for being our constant mentor with her valuable guidance and support. We also extend our thanks to our dear colleagues.
